If you have a sub-par (or non-existent) home studio, please go to a professional studio to record your auditions. With all of the online casting sites, you’ll need to know where to go to record if you book a job anyway, so start to get to know your local studios by recording some auditions there.
Most professional studios have talent friendly pricing for auditions, phone patch sessions, and ISDN. If you are outlaying cash to get or do the job, make friends with your local studio owners and engineers, as they will be helpful at many points in your career.
You will practice and hone the art of auditioning and all of the factors that go into it. Their booth directors will give you great advice and direction. You can even hire your favorite local engineer to come set up your home studio when you are ready.
