Sorry, people, but it was bound to happen, at some point. I can only flower things up for so long before I have to get into the totally lame and boring topic of keeping track of your notes.
Like I said, BORING!
Remember the old spiral notebooks you had in college that never got fully loaded up and yet still sit on the bookshelf because you don’t want to be wasteful and throw them away? Yeah, those.
Take one. Open it up. Grab a writing implement. It doesn’t matter — a pen, a pencil… heck, even a crayon will do. Then, in the top left corner of the first page, write today’s date. All of the conversations you have regarding your hosting career, today, should be documented in this notebook.
What should you do tomorrow?
Write THAT date in the upper left hand corner and write down all the hosting crap that took place today. Do this every day and banish those little slips of paper you have stashed around the house with various notes on it. Keep everything in ONE place, so when you are on the phone with your hosting agent, you can turn back the pages to the conversation you had last week about XYZ project. You will be on top of your career which will make it much easier to manage. Not to mention, everybody with whom you have dealings will know that you mean business just as much as they do.
When you’ve got a few minutes to spare, you can flip through your notebook(s) and find lingering items that may have fallen off your radar. I recommend using this tool in conjunction with having all of your monthly PowerGroup goals in one place. Together, their like wonder twin powers!
